What is an SCA Household?

 The SCA is made up of several kinds of "official" groups from large regional areas that are designated as Kingdoms, to Baronies, Shires and Cantons which cover more localized towns,and cities. 

 A Household is an "unofficial"  SCA group that is typically headed up by Peers of the Realm. 

This concept is based on the period idea of a Peer or Lord having a household of people under their protection that were not just their blood family, but other people such as Squires and Ladies in Waiting who would have been sent to the Lord in order to learn, to gain employment, to make a marriage match, to seen at court, etc.

 In the SCA household leaders try to help their associates to learn more about the SCA and to help them to reach their goals.
